Franciacorta
The sparkling-wine hills south of the lake
Franciacorta is the land of hills and vineyards between Lake Iseo and Brescia. It is home to Franciacorta DOCG, the traditional-method sparkling wine that made the area famous, among wineries, villages, abbeys and villas.
What to see
- The wineries: many open for visits and tastings by appointment.
- The Olivetan Abbey of Rodengo Saiano: the great monastic complex among the vineyards.
- San Pietro in Lamosa monastery: overlooking the Torbiere del Sebino, in Provaglio d’Iseo.
- The villages: Erbusco, Adro, Capriolo and Corte Franca, among villas and countryside.
